Scots offered free management consultancy

Free management consultancy services will be available to as many as 50 charities in Scotland, a volunteer trust has announced.

The Cranfield Trust, which provides free management support from volunteer consultants to the voluntary sector, will offer services worth £400,000 a year over five years, thanks to a grant from venture philanthropy fund the Smart Fund.

The trust is looking to raise its volunteer consultant numbers from 650 to 1,000. Most volunteers are involved in helping organisations that are growing rapidly.

It offers one-to-one support for trading activities, marketing and communications, human resources, finance and IT. It also plans to provide more support in Manchester, Leeds and the north east.
