Scouting for girls: Girl Guides gather for Big Gig

More than 20,000 Girl Guides came together for the Big Gig 2008 event in Birmingham.

The girl-only audience was treated to performances by acts such as Scouting for Girls, the Hoosiers and the Sugababes at the event earlier this month, now in its ninth year.

Liz Burnley, chief executive of Girlguiding UK and chief guide, said: "Big Gig is a great example of our modern and relevant programme, which extends well beyond badges."
