Sector luminaries appointed to advisory board

Public relations company Clarion Communications has established an advisory board to facilitate partnerships between companies and not-for-profit organisations.

The board, which includes people from the public sector, charities and the media, will advise companies on issues such as sustainability, the way they treat their staff and key messages on social and environmental issues that they are trying to get across to their consumers.

Advisory board members include Kate Nicholas, communications director at World Vision and former publisher of PR Week, Augusta Grand, head of the climate change programme at the Eden Project, and Maggie Baxter, former executive director of Womankind Worldwide and former deputy chief executive of Comic Relief.

Gary Freemantle, chief executive of Clarion Communications, said: Our new advisory board comes at the perfect moment – as commercial companies look for help in connecting with consumers who are increasingly demanding ethical practices.
