Johnson has been promoted to the role from her post as development director at the charity, and will start the new job when she returns from maternity leave in January. She replaces Graham Simmonds, who left in July. Emma Hill, who is currently projects director, will become interim chief executive until Johnson returns. "My previous role as development director has provided me with extensive experience of hands-on delivery across core day-to-day tasks - from fundraising, marketing and communications to project development and financial planning," said Johnson. "I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to build on that experience to continue Trees for Cities' culture of developing innovative projects both in the UK and internationally."
