SNAPSHOT: Bearday celebrations

Leading medical charity Action Research celebrated its 50th anniversary last week with a Bring Your Bear garden party at its head office in Horsham, West Sussex. The charity's mascot, Paddington Bear, who also celebrated his birthday last week, invited special guests to attend the golden anniversary celebrations including Karen Jankel, an Action Research trustee and daughter of Paddington's author Michael Bond, along with 30 local school children. The children, aged seven and eight, from Greenway Primary School, Horsham, attended a giant picnic, complete with games, a magic show and Paddington's favourite nibble - marmalade sandwiches.Bring Your Bear is an annual Action Research event that encourages children to take their bear to school.
