SNAPSHOT: Music Works

On song Music Works, a project designed to encourage musicians over 50 to donate time and performance skills, was launched by the Experience Corps earlier this month. More than 100 musicians with an average age of 60 took part in the Music Works concert at the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, including The Twirlies. The Wirral-based music group sang a medley of songs from the pearly kings and queens. The oldest member of the group is 92. It will match individuals and groups from all genres with opportunities to perform at local and regional level, and support them at each event. Local venues will range from community centres to hospices.
