'Speed dating' events will match potential Work Programme partners

Prime Pitch set up to pair voluntary sector groups with government contractors

The Employment Related Services Association will host a series of ‘speed dating’ events designed to help voluntary sector groups pair up with potential government contractors.

The events, called Prime Pitch, will allow voluntary sector groups to meet organisations that plan to bid to become prime contractors under the government’s Work Programme, the new employment initiative run by the Department for Work and Pensions.

Voluntary sector organisations will be able to pitch their services to the bidding organisations with a view to being chosen as subcontracting partners.

The events will be held in London, Leeds and Birmingham in October.

An ERSA spokesman said prime bidders including Serco, Remploy and A4e had shown an interest in attending the events.
