Sue Ryder Care pilots charity superstore

Charity to open first of planned chain of discount stores

Sue Ryder Care is to pilot a low-cost ‘superstore' selling clothes and furniture at lower prices than its regular shops.

The Buy Now – Sue Ryder Care store, opening next week in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, will sell end-of-line stock from retailers and second-hand furniture. The store will have rails of goods priced at £1, £2 and £3 as well as regular ‘two-for-one' offers.

Theresa Bailey, retail marketing manager at Sue Ryder Care, said the store was the first of a proposed new line of value shops. "It builds on a range of specialist shops we have developed over the past year, including music and books and retro and vintage," she said.

If the pilot is successful, the charity will open more Buy Now stores across the UK.
