Survey will ask funders if decisions are based on results

New Philanthropy Capital aims to establish whether funders make decisions on which charities to support based on performance.

The survey  aims to increase the amount of performance management support available to charities as part of the ChangeUp infrastructure body's national performance programme.

It is designed to help charities communicate better with funders and help funders learn from each other's use of information. The survey will also try to establish what support is available for funders and charities to measure and evaluate their work.

Martin Brookes, chief executive of NPC, said: "This research is a vital piece of the puzzle that will help us work out what's actually happening between charities and funders, and how best to help them communicate and learn about effectiveness."

Findings will be published in spring next year. The survey can be found at zoomerang.com.
