How many trustees are there?
We have 13. None are paid for their work as trustees.
How do you recruit trustees?
We advertise in appropriate publications and on our website, and candidates are interviewed by two trustees, one of whom is normally the chief executive. The successful candidate is then co-opted until they are formally elected at the next AGM.
When does the board meet?
There are six board meetings a year and one board awayday, which is a less formal opportunity to take a strategic overview of the year to come.
What did the last governance review conclude?
The board agreed a new re-election procedure, in which trustees must be nominated by the chair in order to stand again. A third of the trustees must stand for re-election every year.
What is the board talking about at the moment?
It is considering the impact of the spending cuts and is trying to ensure that Thames Reach is robust enough to continue providing quality services in a challenging economic climate.
