Third Sector's Business Charity Awards open for entries

The deadline to enter the awards, which celebrate the contribution made by businesses to the voluntary sector, is 7 February

The Business Charity Awards 2017 are now open for entries.

The awards recognise the outstanding contribution made by UK businesses to charities and social enterprises. The deadline for entries is Thursday 7 February 2017.

Categories in the 2017 awards include Project of the Year, Employee Engagement Initiative of the Year and Marketing Initiative of the Year.

There are also 13 charity partnership awards covering different parts of the business sector, including an award for the best partnership between a charity and a company in the consumer goods/food and beverage sector, and an award to recognise a partnership between a charity and a company working in the financial services sector.

The awards also recognise the difference teams and individuals in the business community make to the charity sector.

Categories include Outstanding Employee, which is awarded to a member of staff at a company who has made an exceptional contribution to a charity, and CSR Team of the Year, which is awarded to the corporate social responsibility team at a company that has helped to substantially increase its charitable activity.

An overall Business of the Year will also be selected from this year’s category winners. The Yorkshire Building Society won this prestigious prize in April for its fundraising and volunteering efforts for charities.

All companies and charities that enter the awards will receive feedback from the judges about their entries.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Hilton London Bankside on Thursday 25 May.
