Vodafone merges charitable foundations

Vodafone's UK and international foundations have merged to form a single organisation.

The Vodafone Foundation, which was launched on 1 September, said the move would not mean a reduction in the amount of money spent on charities.

Last year, the Vodafone Foundation Group invested £36.6m in charitable projects worldwide.

Andrew Dunnett, director of the foundation, said the changes would not affect staffing levels or the organisation's funding plans.

"We have the same budget, the same funding for operating costs and absolutely the same commitments to charities," he said. "We simply felt by joining forces we could strengthen our offering and we now don't have to do two sets of audits and two sets of reports."
