The charity, which has a stand in the exhibition hall, says it wants to fill several two-year placements with partner NGOs working on issues such as HIV.
The volunteers, who need at least two years of fundraising experience in the UK, will help build up the fundraising skills of the organisations they work with and develop their fundraising strategies. Some six-month consultancy placements are also available for fundraisers with considerable experience.
Diana Vollmerhausen, marketing adviser for management and fundraising volunteers at VSO, said the volunteers would be fundraising from the EU and other international bodies as well as local businesses. She said the concept of fundraising was not well known in the countries where the partner NGOs operated.
"Fundraisers will need to work creatively," she said. "They will be finding sources of funds in a different context."
