Watts takes helm at RSPCA

Mark Watts has been appointed chief executive of the RSPCA after working for the charity for 28 years.

He joined the charity as chief accountant in 1980 and has most recently overseen the charity’s financial and technology planning as director of corporate services.

“The RSPCA has already modernised in a number of key areas, but I am looking forward to making further changes so that the we can bring about even more improvements to the lives of millions of animals,” said Watts.

Watts succeeds Jackie Ballard, who became chief executive of the RNID in October last year.
