Acevo to help the Tories with policy

Chief executives body Acevo is to help the Conservative Party develop its policies for the sector.

It has set up a working party to analyse proposals contained in the Tories' green paper for the sector, Voluntary Action in the 21st Century, and provide feedback to shadow charities minister Nick Hurd.

The group will be chaired by Harriett Baldwin, a board member of Futurebuilders England and Conservative parliamentary candidate for West Worcestershire.

Stephen Bubb, chief executive of Acevo, said: "The release of Voluntary Action in the 21st Century marked an important stage in the advancement of Conservative policy. It is vital these ideas are developed in conjunction with the sector."

Hurd said he was pleased that Acevo wanted to help improve the Conservatives' ideas for the third sector.
