Acevo manual for full cost recovery

Acevo is to produce a manual for funders aimed at helping them to implement full cost recovery.

The chief executives' body said that progress by government departments on the issue had been limited. In a recent Charity Finance Directors' Group survey, 60 per cent of respondents said they were not adequately compensated for work done under contract with the public sector.

Stephen Bubb, chief executive of Acevo, said: "Although funded organisations have a template for achieving full cost recovery, there is little understanding among funders of how they can fulfil their side of the bargain."

Acevo will carry out research into the challenges faced by funders in achieving full cost recovery. All its work in this area is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
