The chief executives body has won a £500,000 Big Lottery Fund grant to establish itself in the north and a contract from the Government's ChangeUp programme to provide charities with income generation support.
The Leeds office will provide training, development and professional services for people in the north of England. It will recruit a director and two staff.
A site for the office has yet to be identified. Interviews for all posts are expected to take place in March.
"Our members in the north feel there's a need for our services to be provided outside London," said an Acevo spokeswoman.
Acevo has already taken on new administrative staff in London and is recruiting for three further positions.
