Air ambulance to meet up with Pele

Pele is to lend his support to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The Brazilian football hero will take time out from promoting his autobiography in the UK to visit the air ambulance at Coventry airport on 21 May. He will spend an hour looking round the charity's headquarters and meeting the crew.

"We're trying to raise the profile of the air ambulance and we wanted some big names attached," said Andy Williams, director of the WNAA. "And there isn't a bigger name than Pele.

"When I saw he was coming to England, I wrote to his publishers and asked if he could spend some time with us - and he agreed."
