Guide dogs are allowed in aircraft cabins on long-haul flights for the first time this week, following a 10-month campaign. Guide Dogs and Dogs for the Disabled were part of the International Travel Work Group that lobbied for the introduction of pet passports. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, The Civil Aviation Authority and BAA were also involved. Previously, guide dogs had to travel in the holds of aircraft.
