Angela Smith's expenses claim queried

Auditor Sir Thomas Legg asks charities minister for more information

Third sector minister Angela Smith has been asked by auditor Sir Thomas Legg to check one of her expenses claims.

A spokesman for Angela Smith said Legg, who is reviewing expenses claims made by MPs since 2004, had queried a claim made by Smith but had not asked her to repay anything as yet.

The spokesman declined to reveal what the queried claim was for.

Tory charities spokesman Nick Hurd said he had not been asked to repay anything.

Liberal Democrat charities spokeswoman Jenny Willott had nothing to repay and nothing queried, a spokesman for her said.
