Ann Phillips, a partner at the charity law division of Stone King Solicitors, has been elected chair of the Charity Law Association. She succeeds Alison Paines, a partner at Withers.
Phillips is a former deputy chair of the association, which has more than 900 members.
She joined Stone King in 2001 and is co-author with Michael King of Charities Act 2006: A Guide to the New Law.
Phillips said she was honoured to be elected chair at "a critical time for the charity sector".
