Anti-violence body needs vendors for its vagina lollipops

A non-profit organisation that campaigns to prevent violence against women is appealing for entrepreneurs to sell vagina-shaped lollipops on its behalf.

V-Day is seeking vendors to sell its unique brand of lickable merchandise at performances of The Vagina Monologues.

The play will be performed across the world between 14 February and 8 March next year to raise money for V-Day, a US-based organisation. Its range of vagina-themed products also includes chocolates, jewellery and quilts.

"They are very obvious things to sell at a play about a vagina," said Karin Heisecke, co-ordinator of V-Day's European network.

Oona King, Caroline Flint and Sandra Gidley were among a group of MPs to stage a fundraising performance of Eve Ensler's play in London in March this year.
