Association starts up in North East as forum for trustees

A membership association has been formed for charity trustees in North-East England.

The Board Member Association was launched in late September. It is aimed at board members of voluntary or community associations, charities, regeneration partnerships, schools and health trusts.

The association was created by Newcastle-upon-Tyne-based Governance Works, a not-for-profit organisation founded earlier this year that runs training courses, carries out consultancy and research about governance in the not-for-profit sector.

The association, which offers free membership, aims to help trustees develop good practice and represent their interests to funders and government.
