The fund has been developed by the Resource Alliance and is part of the Fundraisers Fund, an online initiative that uses donations from fundraisers in western countries to provide training bursaries for their counterparts in developing regions.
The Resource Alliance has allocated £2,000 to part-fund 20 places on courses in the sub-continent.
Friends of Astarita, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year, have so far donated almost £20,000 in her memory.
More than 100 delegates at the International Fundraising Conference in Holland last month signed up to give on a regular basis (30 October, page 9).
