Back in fashion

Addaction begins its largest-ever fundraising appeal today with a series of advertisements that challenge the perception of drug and alcohol treatment as unfashionable causes to support.

The charity is spending £100,000 on the campaign, which it hopes will generate £10m over three years. Addaction currently receives only £1.6m of its £32m income from fundraising. "We are heavily dependent on government funding, so we made a strategic decision to diversify our funding streams," said Rachel Brady, head of fundraising at Addaction.
