"We want to show that everybody's beneficiaries are affected by climate change, and green issues are relevant to all charities," said Matthew Smerdon, deputy director of Baring.
The foundation has funded a series of green audits for charities with which it has worked in the past.
"We're going to see the results of our green audits later in the year," said Smerdon. "If the organisations involved have made progress on being greener, we might fund other charities to help them do the same."
He added that the foundation might also provide funds for charities that are working to cut their carbon emissions.
