Barnardo’s has appointed its first chief digital officer in its bid to drive forward digital transformation at the children's charity.
Jason Caplin, the former chief digital officer at the Department for International Trade, will take up his new position early next month. He will lead the charity’s digital transformation across the organisation, with an emphasis on digital service design and delivery.
Welcoming the appointment, Barnardo’s corporate director strategy and performance, Adam Pemberton, said Caplin's expertise and knowledge would prove invaluable.
"He will drive Barnardo’s digital transformation strategy, ensuring digital engagement at all levels internally and externally with stakeholders, beneficiaries, commissioners, supporters, staff and volunteers," Pemberton said.
Before taking his role at the DIT, Caplin designed the digital strategy for the Department of Health and led digital transformation projects for Blue State Digital at Plan UK, the Royal College of Nursing, UBS and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
