Beating Bowel Cancer wins partnership with John Lewis

Charity expects to receive about £100,000 as department store's charity of the year

Department store chain John Lewis has selected Beating Bowel Cancer as its charity of the year.

The charity, chosen by executives at the retailer after a pitch process, expects to receive about £100,000 from the partnership, which runs for a year from this month.

John Lewis staff will take part in a range of fundraising activities on behalf of the charity and its 29 outlets will also work to raise awareness of the disease.

Hilary Whittaker, chief executive of Beating Bowel Cancer, said the move was a "fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of bowel cancer and highlight the work that we do".
