Beneficiary quiz measures impact

New Philanthropy Capital is piloting a questionnaire for children's charities that will help them measure improvements in the wellbeing of beneficiaries so they can articulate their impact more effectively.

The questionnaire can be used to measure the impact of charity programmes on children aged 11 to 16 in subjects such as their relationships with friends and family, their progress at school and their general fitness.

"This pilot will focus on developing questions that can measure impact and change and also ensure that the questionnaire is practical for small charities to use," said Lucy Heady, the author of the questionnaire.

The survey is expected to be finalised in nine months, when it will be given out to charities. NPC hopes it will help them improve their reporting and attract funding.
