Big Lottery Fund awards Inspiring Impact £600k over three years

The organisation was set up in 2012 to help voluntary sector bodies improve their impact

A programme aimed at helping voluntary sector organisations make more of a difference in their work has been awarded £600,000 by the Big Lottery Fund, supporting the scheme for another three years.

Inspiring Impact was set up in 2012 and offers services including grants to charities and social enterprises to improve their impact and networks that aim to help organisations learn from each other.

The scheme is run by the think tank NPC, Charities Evaluation Services, which helps voluntary organisations measure their impact and is part of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, Social Value UK, Evaluation Support Scotland, the Wales Council for Voluntary Action and Community Evaluation NI.

The BLF gave £600,000 to support the scheme in 2015 and provided £280,000 of funding for it to be set up in 2012.

A statement from the organisations today said the scheme had supported more than 70,000 charities through its website, events and grant funding, and the new funding would support the scheme until 2021.

The grant-maker the City Bridge Trust is also providing a further £15,000 of funding to support the scheme.

Sally Higham, chair of Inspiring Impact and chief executive of RunAClub, said in a statement: "We are delighted to have received this funding from the Big Lottery Fund. It’s a testament to the difference the project has made over its life so far, helping charities up and down the country understand – and prove – the difference they make.

"We have integrated elements of codesign into the programme, with solid online resources, to ensure the content is as grass roots and charity led as possible.

"This will make what is a unique and vital programme even more useful for charities, reach more people and create more impact for charities across the UK."
