Breakthrough appoints new manager

Social enterprise support organisation the Community Action Network has appointed a new manager for Breakthrough, its social investment fund founded in partnership with European private equity firm Permira.

Denise Holle, a former Merrill Lynch equity analyst, will be responsible for social enterprises in the second strand of the Breakthrough programme, and will also work to develop strategic investment partnerships.

Holle was at Merrill Lynch for 12 years and was previously project manager for Russia and Central Asia at the World Bank. "I will be focusing on fundraising and identifying more companies for the portfolio," she said.
