Bridges Ventures sets up Sustainable Property Fund

Ethical fund will focus on development and renovation of property

Investment company Bridges Ventures has launched a £26m fund that will invest in property with a social or environmental benefit.

The Bridges Sustainable Property Fund will concentrate on development of new buildings and renovation of older structures to improve their environmental standard, and on investing in regeneration areas.

Investors in the fund include pension funds, charitable foundations and private individuals.

Simon Ringer, managing director of the fund, said the level of financial backing it had received showed there was increasing demand from investors who wanted to increase their social impact without compromising financial returns.
