British Red Cross employee was unfairly dismissed and discriminated against, tribunal rules

An employee at the British Red Cross was unfairly dismissed and discriminated against on grounds of disability, according to an employment tribunal.

Plymouth Employment Tribunal documents found an employee named L Carroll’s “dismissal was unfair” and “a complaint of discrimination on grounds of disability was upheld” in a ruling issued at the start of August.

But the tribunal documents do not reveal any further details of the case.

Both parties have been given until 24 September to submit additional evidence and a remedy hearing has been scheduled for 14 October.

A British Red Cross spokesperson said: “As there are ongoing legal proceedings and the matter is not yet complete, it would be inappropriate to comment further until we receive the tribunal’s full judgment.”
