The new employee will have to make the site more accessible to fundraisers, adding content and fundraising for the service. Burnett has also secured a grant of £25,000 from the Joel Joffe Charitable Trust to fund the site’s development, and intends to register the site as a foundation.
“I am hoping the Resource Alliance is going to be able to work with me on Sofii,” Burnett said. “It is one of the organisations that has a truly international reach. I am looking for someone who can manage the website but also with editorial skills, a Jack of all trades. And if it is someone with fundraising experience, even better.”
Burnett has already secured £10,000 funding from agency Cascaid and Australian consultancy Pareto Fundraising to launch his service.
He unveiled the prototype at the International Fundraising Congress in Amsterdam last year (Third Sector Online, 25 October 2007).
