CAF set to assess new media funds

The Charities Aid Foundation is researching the value of digital media fundraising - including email, viral and SMS campaigns - compared with other sources of income.

The survey, believed to be the first looking at fundraising across the spectrum of digital media, will ask charities to contribute details of new media fundraising successes and failures. The findings will be available as a free briefing paper in the autumn.

"People kept asking me what proportion of charities' income comes from new media," said Liz Goodey, senior research officer at CAF. "The sector needs to know the answers." For details, email egoodey @cafonline.org.
