Calum Irving joins Voluntary Action Scotland

- Calum Irving has been appointed chief executive of Voluntary Action Scotland, the new organisation that will provide support for infrastructure organisations. He joins from Sense Scotland, where he was director of external affairs.

Jane Beaven- The Children's Trust, which provides care for children with multiple disabilities, has appointed Jane Beaven (right) as head of partnerships fundraising and Julie Beames as head of retail.

- The Media Trust has appointed the former consultant Martha Clarke as head of communications services.

- Hilary Barrett has joined the Alzheimer's Society as its national manager of education and development. She has spent the past 10 years running her own consultancy.

Susan Tait- The childhood bereavement charity Winston's Wish has appointed Susan Tait (right) as regional operations manager for West Sussex. She joins from the telecoms company Ericsson.

- The Nuffield Foundation has appointed Teresa Williams as director of social research and policy. She will join at the end of October from the Ministry of Justice.
