Campaign to stem decline in legacies

The Legacy Promotion Campaign has launched its biggest direct marketing drive following research that showed that the proportion of people unlikely to leave money to charity is at an all-time high.

An NOP survey in March of 620 people aged between 50 and 65 found that 48 per cent would not consider leaving money to charity in their will.

Theresa Dauncey, campaign director, said: "Charities will be quite worried about this negative trend, which could be to do with world current affairs at the time of the poll."
