Your chance to discuss the Compact

The future of the Compact comes under the spotlight at a one-day conference in Birmingham on 9 September.

The Commission for the Compact is organising the event after it was asked last week to begin a three-month consultation on whether the Compact should be given statutory powers (Third Sector Online, 8 July).

The Compact, which is an agreement between the voluntary and public sectors on how they should behave towards each other, has been a voluntary agreement since it began 10 years ago.

The event will take place at the International Convention Centre. Third sector minister Phil Hope is expected to attend. Attendance is free.

Further information is available from the commission's website.
