Charities benefit from online flight sales

An internet company that allows people to raise funds for charity while they search online is expanding.

VeoSearch is a search engine that, thanks to a partnership with travel search engine Liligo, now offers users the chance to book flights while raising money for their chosen causes.

The Paris-based company is also teaming up with price-comparison site to give people the chance to generate money for charity while shopping online.

Since launching this spring in Europe, VeoSearch has raised almost £24,500 for charities. The site also offers charities the opportunity to develop an online community by posting messages, photos and videos for their supporters.

UK charities such as British Red Cross, Care International UK and youth empowerment charity Envision have already signed up to the scheme.
