A free guide has been published that gives voluntary organisations tips on how to attract and engage with businesses.
Employee Volunteering: A Best Practice Guide was created by Bournemouth and Poole CVS and the recruitment software provider Hireserve.
It gives tips on how to find potential corporate partners and how to then manage mutually beneficial relationships with them.
The guide also provides advice on how to overcome barriers to employee volunteering, such as cost, lack of time and lack of internal support.
In the foreword, Shaun Delaney, volunteering development manager at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, says the information in the guide shows how working with businesses can "create some great quality opportunities for everyone involved".
