Charities ready for auction

A number of charities have launched online auction sites in the past seven days. Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust is the latest organisation to launch such a site. Similar ventures have been proffered by Help the Aged, Make-A-Wish and SignHealth.

This new online innovation is all about increasing our fundraising revenue,” said Jo Elliott, PR & marketing manager at ACT. “It offers a valuable online platform through which we can collect donations and promote sale items to anyone wishing to support our cause.”

The online auction sites will all be run by fundraising agency Charity2Charity.

“Online fundraising is aimed at counteracting the widespread drop in response to traditional fundraising methods such as direct mail,” said Steve Bailey, the agency’s chair.
