The Charity Commission is asking for feedback from charities on new draft guidance on managing conflicts of interests among trustees.

The commission said that the draft guidance did not propose any changes to the legal duties of trustees, but it wanted the document to be clearer than the existing guidance.

The draft sets out practical steps to help trustees identify, manage and record conflicts of interest and explains that trustees must make decisions that are focused only on the best interests of the charity.

Charities, trustees and charity experts have until 20 August to respond to the consultation.
