Charity Commission to question trustees

The Charity Commission is to question the trustees of the Smith Institute after media allegations that it is not politically impartial. The institute employed Treasury minister Ed Balls as a senior researcher while he was campaigning for a parliamentary seat last year and has held seminars at 11 Downing Street.
