Charity Commission to update investment guidance

Regulator will revise CC14 note for the first time since 2003

The Charity Commission intends to publish new investment guidance by the end of the year.

The regulator has been hosting focus groups with several charity investment experts to ask how it should update guidance note CC14, which covers charity investments.

It will be seeking further opinions from charity finance professionals and fund managers over the next few weeks.

"Trustee boards are taking more interest in investments in the light of the economic downturn," a commission spokeswoman said. "We are updating our guidance to ensure it is fully comprehensive and up to date with recent developments in the investment market."

The commission last updated its guidance in 2003.
