Charity is 'hostile' for disabled staff

A charity set up to provide employment for disabled people has come under fire from employees for failing to be disability-friendly.

Workers at Employment Opportunities for Disabled People claimed that the charity did not provided a formal system for implementing reasonable adjustments for disabled staff.

"Employment Opportunities is a hostile climate for anyone with a disability or health condition," said one employee. "No system exists for implementing reasonable adjustments for staff."

A spokeswoman for the charity said: "We are an Investor in People and hold the Disability Symbol, and all avenues for reasonable adjustments are explored, including the provision of equipment and reassignment of job tasks."
