Charity video interviews: Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

At the recent Third Sector Awards specialist insurer, Markel, had the opportunity to speak to charities about the risks they face and how they manage them

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is a charity that provides support to lung cancer patients and their families.

Paula Chadwick, Chief executive of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation highlighted income generation and fundraising as a risk for her charity.

With a lack of government funding and targets to reach, the charity relies on supporters and volunteers to help raise valuable funds for their organisation.

The charity makes sure their supporters know just how much they appreciate their donations and the difference their help can make. Recognising and appreciating support can be an effective way of building long-lasting relationships and encouraging future donations.

A great way of connecting with your supporters as well as raising essential funds is through holding fundraising events. For more tips on fundraising events, take a look at this supporting article: Fundraising events top tips
