Chief executives body for Slovenia

Charity leaders to launch their own version of Acevo

Charity chief executives in Slovenia will launch their own version of Acevo next month.

The Association of Slovenian NGO Managers will be the second independent chief executives network facilitated by Acevo's European leaders network, Euclid.

It follows the launch of Leader2Leader in Italy last year (11 June 2008, page 4). Slovenia's charities minister will speak at the launch event on 13 March.

Primoz Sporar, coordinator of the network, said the association was a natural next step after the recent establishment of a trade union for charity workers.

He said the network aimed to promote cooperation between managers and policymakers, both nationally and within the EU.

"We aim to offer specialised training for managers and interact with similar European networks and the main economic stakeholders in Slovenia," he said.
