Childcare umbrella publishes governance guide

The National Council for Voluntary Child Care Organisations has published a new guide for people involved in governing children's charities.

Governance for Children, which was funded by the Governance Hub, sets out the role of charity trustees and provides a range of practical suggestions.

Maggie Jones, chief executive of the NCVCCO, said: "The task of governing charities may not be easy, but it could not be more important."

The guide was published yesterday at the NCVCCO's national conference on governing for children in Birmingham, chaired by Baroness Valerie Howarth of Breckland. Speakers included Jones, Sir Roger Singleton and Dame Gillian Pugh.
