Clore fellowships and bursaries on offer

Social leadership programme open to those with substantial sector experience

Applications are being invited from today for up to 15 fellowships, plus bursaries of up to £20,000, to attend the Clore Social Leadership Programme.

The programme was established in 2008 by the Clore Duffield Foundation to develop leadership in the third sector. The fellowships, which will begin in January and run for one year, are open to any UK resident who has "substantial work or volunteering experience in the sector".

Fellows will attend two intensive residential courses, including individual tuition and mentoring, and complete an extended placement. Tuition fees will be paid, and the £20,000 bursary will be available to support fellows or their employers.

Dame Mary Marsh, director of the programme, said: "The Clore Social Leadership Programme will equip the next generation of third sector leaders with the skills and confidence to handle risk, manage complexity and make the most of opportunities to innovate in the recession and beyond. We need diverse leaders with courage, passion and focus to meet the growing needs of civil society".

The closing date for applications is 30 June. Successful applicants will be announced in October.
