COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: The aliens are coming

Greenpeace is attempting to tell 'armchair activists' they can make a difference to the environment through everyday buying decisions and basic lifestyle choices. The message comes in a four-minute cinema film depicting a group of aliens discussing the possible takeover of Earth. Starring Eddie Izzard, Jim Broadbent and Joseph McFadden, Alien Invasion aims to convey Greenpeace's message of promoting a better future for the planet. In the film, the aliens debate whether Earth is beyond help or a worthwhile investment. It launches in UK cinemas in November and will also be distributed on the internet. The organisation defines 'armchair activists' as those who want to do something to protect the environment but don't know how, or don't think they can make sufficient impact.
